I am the bullet that went through you're head
I wonder if the love I gave will return to at all
I hear the bullet that killed you that unfaithful day
I see the funeral in my head with no one showing up
I want to rebuild every bridge i have burned down
I am the bullet that went through you're head

I pretend that nothing is wrong with me
I feel like a screw up and a mess
I touch the lonely dog tags
I worry the plank would break on me at the wrong time
I cry when I think of her
I am the bullet that went through you're head

I understand that life is contracted and death is expected
I say I hope she stays the same for me
I dream of her playing volleyball at the beach
I try to be a great leader
I hope these soldiers wont fall to the ground for a mistake
I am the bullet that went through you're head

I am

I am the fist thats made when angry is present
I want this hatred to go away
I hear the voices laughing
I see the people leaving me behind
I want to forget it all
I am the fist thats made when angry is present

I pretend to have it under control
I feel like exploding
I touch the cold hand of betrayel
I worry I will snap at the wrong time
I cry when I get too stressed
I am the fist thats made when angry is present

I understand that violence is not the answer
I say screw the world not yourself
I dream of a world with no hatred
I try to control myself
I hope I am forgiven
I am the fist thats made when angry is present

The Hardest Journey

"I heard that the program starts tommorow" said the representative. The program was going to introduce us to America. I think I know enough I have seen it in television every now and then. Maybe there is more than that. I better get there first if I take the program then I could be one of the first to be taken there. Well my name is Adis I am from Bosnia and Herzegovina its one place. There is a genocide going on right now. If we want to avoid it we have to leave our homes. I am planning to leave tonight. I do not care where I go as long I am save. Let me tell you how it started.

It is night and Adias is getting ready to leave. He has no idea where but Adias knows he is not going to stay. He is alone his family had left him nehind but he is ok with it because he told them to. They promised each other that they will meet againg someday but for now they will go their own ways. Adias wants to make it to Europe so from there he can go to America. So he is off on his journey to get somewhere safe. So they won't find him he decides to make it through the woods. Adias did not know that military dogs were set lose in the woods. He makes it through two days until two dogs find him. Adias did not know what to do when he saw them. They attacked him bitting him on the arm, legs, and torso. Adias still managed to run from the dogs and escape from them. So he walks through the woods for three days. Onde day a soldier finds him because he is looking for the dogs they let loose. He helps him up and takes him to a refugee camp.
There they tell him that Adias is safe from the genocide. So he can stay at the refugee camp where they will send him to America. Adias is so happy to hear that and cannot wait to leave. Under one condition which he must take a program where he will be introduced to America. He does not want to be on their bad side so he agress. The programs last about three weeks. For Adias it lasted a long time like three months ut he was happy to be in it. He finds iut that eveything on television about America is not real. The weeks pass and he is ready to go to America. He feels prepared and ready to take on the world. So they out him on the to Chicago. There he looks out the window wondering where his family is at.

The Congressional Medal of Honor

Every morning I see what I think is a great symbol for honor, respect, and sacrifice. That is the flag of the United States of America. To me it is more than a flag. It represents our fifty states and the third teen original colonies. Also represents all the men and women who put there lives at risk so that flag can stand tall. All the men and women are are beyond people to me. They are protectors of the flag, this country, and even me. There is always those who go over the top. The Medal of Honor recipients do what has to be done no questions asked. Their stories are extraordinary no matter who hears it. They have the highest honor any one can have.

The Medal of Honor means a lot to me. The one thing that stands out more is the sacrifices one had to do. Like they had to leave their personnel lives behind so other people can have them. Leaving loved ones and friends behind to fight for a country that gave it to you. I can't forget them putting there lives at risk. Standing at the front lines knowing that they might not make it back. Thinking of everyone they care because it might be the last time they saw them. Instead of backing off and playing it safe they fight until they can't anymore. The aftermath is always the hardest to get through. They could have been seriously injured or even die. It is always hard to get through changes. Somehow they manage to get though and stand tall with the respect they deserve.

Like everything else in life we must work for something. Nothing is just given away for no reason especially the Medal of Honor. The bravery it took to do what they did is unmeasurable. Staying calm is always hard because they is where the mind thinks the worse can happen. In war it could happen and to stay calm during that time is hard. Some manage to do it and since their minds are calm they stay focus on what they are supposed to do. Going under heavy fire to do something or help someone is not an easy task. Many people will think about it, some will try to ignore it or send someone else. Few will decide to run through and so the task they try to do. Without thinking twice or wondering what could happen to them. They know they could get hurt but they still do it. To me that is true bravery no matter what they say to me.

Heroes look for no reward no matter what they did. They say that it was the right thing to do. Well not everyone will but their live on the line for other people. Sometimes the right thing to do isn't the easiest. Also they didn't do it for recognition or a reward. No one asked for a parade or day for them. They didn't do it for a special reason they did it because it was the right thing. Many think that they just didn't deserve it there whole squad or platoon. In my mind they are all heroes that will never be forgotten.

So every time I say the Pledge of Allegiance I say it proud. There is nothing to be ashamed off. I know there is men and women who fought for the flag and our rights. They didn't do anything wrong that they don't deserve the Medal of Honor. They did anything that was possible to do their task in the army. Went beyond the call of duty when no one asked them to. They are better than people in a uniform they are heroes for a country that stands for so much.

THANKS YOU

Dear Frank Herda,
My name is Ruben Martinez. I am currently a sophomore at Farragut Career Academy. I am in the JROTC program and my rank is a SGT. The reason I'm writing to you is I wanted to recognize the sacrifice you made.To block a grenade with your body. That must had taken a lot of courage. Not everyone would do that. That is why I think you deserve the Medal of Honor.

You went to war to fight for our rights. If you didn't maybe today we wouldn't of have them. Also giving this great nation hope. Many people always have doubts of war. I am sure this sacrifice will change there mind. You have also set up an example we can all look up to. Today so called heroes aren't what we need. We need a hero that shows us that we should look after ourselves we should look out for everyone.

Hearing your experience made me realize something. That when I'm down I am not out until I am dead. Just because the odds are against you doesn't mean We lost. Also that nothing is impossible we can do what we really want. You survived a grenade blast that showed me that in war and life there is no giving up. One for all and all for one. I really never knew the meaning to this until I heard about you. That truly we leave no one behind.

I would really like it if we had a Medal of Honor recipients day. Were we all hold a huge ceremony for all the Medal of Honor recipients for what they have done. People can also go and show how much they are thankful for the actions the recipients did. One more thing is recognition for what you did. We can all talk and say we would do it. Mr. Herda you didn't let your words speak your actions did.

So every June 29 from now on I will light a candle in your honor. Thank you Mr. Herda for everything.

Sincerely,
Cadet Sergeant Ruben Martinez

For The Fallen

Frank A. Herda

Rank and organization:Specialist Fourth Class,United States Army
Place and date: June 29, 1968 Vietnam War
Entered service at:Cleveland, Ohio

Citation:
For conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty. Sp4c. Herda (then Pfc.) distinguished himself while serving as a
grenadier with Company A. Company A was part of a battalion-size night defensive perimeter when a large enemy force initiated an attack on the friendly units. While other enemy elements provided diversionary fire and indirect weapons fire to the west, a sapper force of approximately 30 men armed with hand grenades and small charges attacked Company A's perimeter from the east. As the sappers were making a last, violent assault, 5 of them charged the position defended by Sp4c. Herda and 2 comrades, 1 of whom was wounded and lay helpless in the bottom of the foxhole. Sp4c. Herda fired at the aggressors until they were within 10 feet of his position and 1 of their grenades landed in the foxhole. He fired 1 last round from his grenade launcher, hitting 1 of the enemy soldiers in the head, and then, with no concern for his safety, Sp4c. Herda immediately covered the blast of the grenade with his body. The explosion wounded him grievously, but his selfless action prevented his 2 comrades from being seriously injured or killed and enabled the remaining defender to kill the other sappers. By his gallantry at the risk of his life in the highest traditions of the military service, Sp4c. Herda has reflected great credit on himself, his unit, and the U.S. Army.

One way I can thank Mr. Herda is by knowing and using my rights. He risked his life so we can keep them. I would consider it an insult if I didn't know them. Mr. Herda did something extraordinary for the United States of America. He took a grenade blast for his fellow soldiers. He could have gotten away from the grenade but he didn't. So I'm going to know my rights and use them when needed.

MORE GOALS DONE

One goal I accomplished was understand politics. I usually just made form of them but it is way better when I understand them. Like the bills they try to pass and why they matter to me. The economy is really messed up and we need to bring it up. Also global warming is make a huge deal. Also the new president will make history. Either the first african american president or the first female vice president.

Welcome Home - Watch more funny videos here

This is one of the most awesomest rock bands ever. Coheed and Cambria have a total of 4 albums. From all of them my favorite is the one with the longest title ever. The title is Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness. I know many of you are wondering what does this do with my goals? Well they recently came to Chicago and I went. It was awesome.

Also I have gotten way better at Guitar Hero. I use to play on medium on all the songs. Now I can play on hard. I'm the best when I play on hard but I manage. I love playing "Suck My Kiss" by Red Hot Chili Peppers. That song is one of my favorites. Also the "Number of the Beast" by Iron Maiden.
